BID2WIN Software, Inc. is a leading developer of cost estimating and field tracking software for the construction industry. We’re located in Portsmouth, NH—one of the most thriving high-tech regions in the United States. We are seeking a highly competent individual to join us as a Software Product Manager.
In this role, you'll “own” one of our products, with overall responsibility for all aspects of the product, from what features are included, feature design, oversight of a production team that designs and produces the software code, quality assurance, and deployment. You’ll interface with all other departments in the organization to gain insight into customer requirements, including sales, marketing, implementation, training, and technical support, to guide the product direction. You’ll meet with customers to find out what they need. You’ll take advantage of our proprietary, structured development process developed over the last 15 years, and manage that process to ship new features to our thousands of users.
In short, you’ll “run the show” for one of our products.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- “Owning” the product, and setting the product direction based upon the feedback of customers and internal stakeholders
- Researching and designing product features and writing functional specifications
- Communicating with all stakeholders to ensure project goals and priorities are satisfied
- Managing the software schedule and other project management tasks
- Managing workload for multiple team members
- Managing task sequencing to ensure no team member is waiting on someone else to complete their tasks
- Preparing and presenting status reports for weekly meetings
- Creating and updating software process documentation and systems as we continue to improve our development process
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in computer science or engineering
- Combined 5 years experience in the following areas:
- Programming
- Software design and architecture
- Software requirements
- Project management
- Team leadership
- Excellent verbal, written, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with other team members
- Ability to work independently; strong ownership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in computer science or engineering
- Master’s degree in computer science
- Combined 10 or more years experience in the following areas:
- Object-oriented programming
- Software design and architecture, including experience with the UML and RUP
- Software requirements, including experience with domain modeling and use cases
- Project management
- Team leadership
- Excellent verbal, written, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with other team members
- Ability to work independently; strong ownership skills
- Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server
- PMP certification
