Job Title: IT Engineer

Reports to: Operations Manager

This position is responsible for Management of all Network, Servers, Desktops and Telephone equipment. Ensure the availability and security of the network and its resources to end-users. Pretty much anything you can imagine in a small to medium size company. This person will carry out high and low level technical support, routine and nonroutine installation and maintenance of network hardware and software, such as servers, operating systems, storage devices, routers/switches, and end-user equipment. This person is also responsible for providing user-level network services, such as assigning passwords and accounts, administering e-mail, setting permissions, and desktop applications support.

Responsibilities:

·             Analyze and initiate configurations and other changes within the IT infrastructure per requirements.

·             Provide advanced server administration, expert Windows and Linux server setup, Cisco router configuration and system security.

·             Maintain our business server infrastructure to support the development and management teams.

·             Provide and maintain specialized networking infrastructure to facilitate multi-site software development, including teleconferencing, VPN solutions, distributed source control, and test network deployment.

·             Provide server and desktop monitoring and ensure proactive corrective services.

·             Apply critical patches to network switches and servers on a timely basis.

·             Purchase, configure, and maintain user computers/ hardware/ software for all departments in the company.

·             Respond to and troubleshoot any IT issues as they occur.

·             Interface with vendors as needed to maintain optimal operations.

·             Maintain Hardware/Software Inventory and Update Software License list.

·             Develop and implement Backups and Disaster Recovery plan.

·             Document new procedures and IT policies.

·             Participate in annual IT budget preparation.

·             Assist with end user training on related technology (Remote Access, VPN, etc).

·             Maintain communications link and good relationship with parent company overseas, Translate technical specifications (Chinese to English) to and from the parent company, Work with remote and off-shore team to deliver on projects, enhancements and other commitments.

·             Assist engineering group with building and maintaining internal client server networks for product development.

·             Balance requirements with technical feasibility and sets expectations on new projects. Recommend changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Determine resources and timeline.

·             Provide After hours and Normal business hours support and guidance to users as needed.

·             All other task assigned.

Qualifications:

ü  Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

ü  MCSE a must and CCNA a plus.

ü  Complete working knowledge of Windows 2003, Exchange, Backup, account and file security, storage technologies, networking (TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, DNS, and domain relationships/trusts, Active Directory ….etc)

ü  Minimum 5 years hands-on in skill

ü  Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills

ü  Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication ability

ü  Must be comfortable working independently and self-managing time and tasks

ü  Fluent in Mandarin
