Safety & Environmental Engineer

Job Description

Electrochem Solutions has an opportunity for a Safety and Environmental Engineer. The position requires the candidate to be responsible for leading efforts, projects, and teams relating to a safe and environmentally friendly workplace. 

Essential Job Functions

·         Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state safety and environmental regulations including ensuring that necessary records and reports are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.

·         Training new and existing associates on company policies, procedures, and regulations

·         Identifying hazardous workplace conditions, driving incident investigations, and coordinating activities to have corrective actions implemented.

·         Responding to day to day associate concerns.

·         Coordinating the removal of hazardous materials and waste.

·         Performing internal audits and inspections of facility and operations

·         Liaison for government inspections and audits.

·         Developing and implementing compliance, continuous improvement, and proactive programs relating to safety and the environment.

·         Coordinator of onsite Safety and Environmental Teams.

·         Assisting with ergonomic programs and improvements.

 

Position Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
  • First Aid, CPR, AED certification and experience with emergency teams
  •  Dependable, detail oriented, organized, and able to solve problems.
  •  Independent work and ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and influence others.
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to speak in public, including providing training and presentations.
  • Ability to manage time and complete tasks by required deadlines.
  • Education (Minimum Needed): 4 Year Degree in RElated Field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience (Minimum Needed): 7-10 years.
  • Specialized KnowledgeNeeded For Performance of Job: Computer skills as required by stated accountabilities;
  • Basic word-processingandspreadsheetskills; Problem solving skills.
  • Special Skills: Strong written and oral communication skill; Ability to work in a team environment
