This position requires result-oriented interaction with a wide variety of people, including staff, attorneys, appraisers, repossession companies, and other vendors. Pro-active and collaborative management ability to attain department and strategic goals through involvement with staff and hands-on efforts. Effective communicator, whether verbally or written, to stimulate and motivate others to achieve results. Five years collection expertise in a banking environment with minimum of one year related positive supervisory practice is required. Knowledge of current collection related laws for various lending products such as car, mortgages and line of credit. Ability to work with various computer software products, including Smart Collector or similar programs.
Responsibilities include hands-on management of daily operations of department including personnel. Work with members to reduce overall delinquency and avoid potential losses to the credit union. Authorize and assign accounts to outside agencies or courts. Assess current procedures including software applications and recommend improvements as required. Oversee relationships with collection partners, i.e. attorneys, repossession forms, and insurance companies. Serve as compliance coordinator for collection department. Participates in community and trade groups.
Must maintain a high standard of confidentiality. Bachelor degree preferred, high school diploma required. Bi-lingual applicants English/Spanish encouraged to apply.
Schedule is 40 hours per week. Monday – Friday with occasional Saturday
