Our client is in need of a clinical specialist for oncology due to expansion. This is a daytime weekday position open with a facility where you can grow to your highest potential as part of a comprehensive oncology operation. The team is a diverse group excited about their work. They want to find a pharmacist that will share the team’s passion for oncology pharmacy. Candidates must have recent inpatient acute care oncology experience and anticoagulation experience. Residency strongly preferred, as is BCOP. Experience is of course the most important thing. Must be BCOP-eligible.

Core Description:
Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and Director of Pharmacy Services, the Clinical Pharmacist Specialist optimizes patient medication therapies by providing comprehensive clinical pharmaceutical care. In this role, is also responsible for the clinical development of pharmacy staff and provides similar developmental opportunities for other clinical staff of the institution, works collaboratively with health care providers to improve medication safety, practices the core responsibilities of the medication use process, and maintains standards set by the department and translates policies and procedures into the daily operation of the Pharmacy.
Works collaboratively and cooperatively with pharmacy, nursing, administration and medical staff to ensure safe and cost-effective management of the medication use process. Guides, oversees, assesses and reviews the work of assigned clinical staff pharmacists and other personnel for productivity, efficiency and quality. Develops designs, coordinates and implements clinical case conferences and other staff development programs with pharmacy and/or other health care providers. Develops, coordinates, implements and teaches the department’s competency programs including competency modules.
Please note that there is bench work. There is rounding and floor work, but how things are split between bench and floor is not something one can really put a number on. You will spend a lot of times on the floors, with the patients, rounding and doing real clinical work. This position is 100% inpatient.

Requirements:
- PharmD
- Current Mass. license or eligible
- 3-5 years of oncology experience and/or BCOP
- Residency, Fellowship or an equivalent number of years practicing clinical pharmacotherapy in an acute care facility.
-Inpatient acute care oncology experience
-Anticoagulation experience
