SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Program Coordinator (PC) is responsible for coordination and supervision of all daily operations of their assigned program site(s); design and implementation of all educational and clinical programs of assigned clients; design, implementation and training of all educational and clinical programs; ISP/IEP development, reporting and monitoring; supervision and evaluation of the staff; oversight of all operational systems within and connected to the site(s).
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
The PC reports to the Program Director and receives additional supervision and clinical support and direction from the Deputy Director of Operations and the Behavior Specialist. The PC supervises and works with assigned personnel to ensure the consistent implementation a high quality of client services and educational and clinical programs. The PC assures the quality of services while maintaining positive and consistent working relationships with all staff and works as a constructive and active team member in all duties.
A. SUPERVISORY AND TEAM RELATIONSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Works cooperatively with the Human Resource department personnel in all aspects of the training curricula and assuring that all required trainings are maintained for the personnel on the team and hiring and terminating staff.
2. Works cooperatively with the Time Coordinator and agency on-call staff in assuring that adequate staffing is provided at all times.
3. Routinely meets with all staff, on an individual basis to offer staff constructive feedback on their performance and encourage input into program plans and revisions.
4. Regularly chairs group staff meetings to review progress, problems, methods, techniques, and schedules while facilitating the free exchange of ideas.
5. Acts as a role model for staff via communication, interaction with the clients and SOLVE techniques.
6. Delegates authority appropriately.
7. Trains supervisory personnel on the team on procedural and programmatic matters.
8. Monitors staff development and performance. Provides additional training, support or counseling as is appropriate. Documents same in accordance with Amego guidelines and policies established by the Human Resource Department.
9. Attends and participates in the following meetings: 1) Administrative Planning meetings, 2) Client-specific program planning meetings, 3) Family Group meetings, 4) Human Rights Committee Meetings and Peer Review Committee meeting upon request.
10. Acts as a liaison between program staff and administration, assuring that staff needs are addressed.
B. CLIENT SERVICES RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assesses clients' strengths and needs, developing IEP/ISP, based upon them. Monitors and reports progress of clients regarding set objectives.
2. Assures that client health needs are addressed as needed and as scheduled. Works in conjunction with the Health Services department staff to insure that quality services are provided.
3. Assures that client family(s) or guardian(s) are kept informed of son/daughter of relevant programmatic progress or concerns. Works in conjunction with the Social Services department staff in all regards.
4. Reviews and follows up on all incident reports and Accident/Injury Reports from staff. Communicates this information to the appropriate central office personnel with established agency timelines.
5. Participates in licensing or certification of the program site(s).
6. Develops methodology for teaching specific objectives and long-term goals of clients.
7. Prepares and monitors the following reports in a timely and professional manner: 1) Data keeping systems which provides documentation of progress toward ISP/IEP goals, 2) All agency client reports (i.e. medication log, clinical program book, etc.), 3) All financial records and or funds (i.e. Personal Needs accounts, Purchase Orders, Staff reimbursements, Check Requests), and 4) All required team records (i.e. team logs).
8. Provides an organized, clutter free environment to assure a safe and harmonious living and/or working environment. Oversees that cleaning schedules are followed.
9. Provides for consistent location of materials to enable all clients and staff are readily able to locate supplies. Replaces or assures the replacement of the same as needed. Stays within budget in order to provide adequate programming opportunities.
10. Assures that staffing and client objective schedules are readily available in program location which indicates scheduled time to work on objectives as designated in their ISP/IEP.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. BS/BA in a related field is strongly preferred. Must be willing to enroll and complete a BA/BS level program in its absence.
2. At least three years of supervisory, managerial experience required.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills. Communication skills must include accuracy, clarity and consistency.
4. Maturity, good judgment and ability to handle confidential information. Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
5. Must be proficient or become proficient in First Aid, CPR and Medication Certification.
6. Must be able to meet all of the Essential Functions of the position. Initial and continued employment is contingent upon:
a. A successful completion of a drug screen and pre-employment physical (for all hires after 1/92).
b. Employees are required to enroll in, pass and maintain certification after hire in a SOLVE (Strategies of Limiting Violent Episodes) Course. Physical requirements are as follows:
-able to run 25 yards without difficulty
-able to pivot 180 degrees off each leg
-able to stand from a kneeling position with ease with no holding on
-has full range of motion in both of the shoulders
-able to lift 20 lbs. to shoulder height without difficulty
-able to bend trunk forward 45-60 degrees from a standing position for a minimum of two minutes
-able to rotate head (full normal range of motion)
-able to bend neck backwards and forwards (full range of motion)
c. Hear sufficiently to identify behaviors targeted auditorially and to respond to assist calls.
d. Able to understand and memorize behavior management programs
e. Speak English sufficiently to communicate with staff, clients and related parties.
f. Perform mathematical computations and write required reports.
g. Vision sufficient to observe target behaviors of clients and perform safety functions.
7. Must have a valid driver’s license.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
1. Full time, salaried position. Works a very variable schedule that includes regular weekend and evening hours.
2. Employee at will status.
3. Must participate in the agency on call system on a routine basis
