From its market-leading electronic and biometric access control systems to personal scheduling systems and architectural hardware such as steel doors and frames, our Security Technologies sector helps make the places we live, work and play safe, secure and productive.
*Lead and/or support the delivery of new product development and sustaining engineering projects.
*Drive innovation in security product platforms with focus on mechanical products, electrical experience helpful.
*Work closely with product managers to develop solutions, while maintaining project timeliness and budgets in accordance with the NPD process.
*Establish clear product testing and performance requirements for ongoing testing, reliability and benchmarking activities.
*Evaluate product warranty issues and implement corrective actions as required.
*Act as a project engineer on moderately complex projects, by coordinating the overall design and development and reporting on progress of assigned projects.
*May direct the work and serve as a technical mentor of one or more technicians and other engineers (entry level).
*Lead the development of prototypes, testing and evaluation of devices using internal/external resources to support new product and sustaining projects.
*Work closely with the sourcing group to drive VA/VE efforts.
*Assist sourcing in the evaluation of components and suppliers.

Education Type: Mechanical Engineer
*Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with five to ten years experience in design related to consumer products, experience with mechanical or electronic locking devices desired.
*Must be proficient in problem solving and creative idea generation.
*Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Must be familiar with various manufacturing processes, specifications of materials and engineering design practice.
*An advanced knowledge of CAD and GD&T required, proficiency with Pro-E, Windchill, and Solidworks desired.
*Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Project), experience in Adobe appliances a benefit.
*Experience with DFSS, DFA, DFM, and DFMEA helpful.
