Summary:
Provide engineering support to the assigned Product Category. Communicate with key stakeholders including our development teams, sales teams, and customers to understand needs, documentation required, testing and expenses. Promote the company and products within the industry. Goals and objectives are tied to the overall success of meeting revenue objectives. Support the development of strategic marketing plans with Product Marketing/Management for category through market research, competitive analysis, pricing, customer engagement, and business planning. Work closely with Product Business Unit leader to meet team objectives.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
New Products
• Support development of new products from ideation through defining the product specification based on market need and coordination with the international cross functional program team and International Product Management.
• Communicate with our Project Team; Research & Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, local commercialization team, and customers on designs, specifications, materials, drawings, and testing to facilitate projects from their initial stage through to Delivery Release.
• Communicate updates to the full commercialization team and meet schedule and milestones.
• Become an expert in product knowledge and end user application, providing technical support strategies for delivery release both with internal and channel partners
• Leadership role on cross-functional teams (internal/external) to introduce new products.
• Coordinates and/or completes marketing analysis on competitive products prior to development efforts to focus on features and benefits, costs and technical specifications.
Existing Product:
• Support Product Business Unit and Sales by providing expertise on product related issues, competitive environment, end-users, and applications of product lines.
• Lead product improvement requirements.
• Support quality improvements and cost reduction of existing product lines.
• Source and obtain competitive products for comparison and analysis
New and Existing Products
• Prepares submittal documentation, proposals, system design, and CAD drawings for both partners and projects.
• Creates customer documentation, including application notes, product manuals, installation manuals, literature, and marketing collateral
• Provide pre-sales support by working with sales and business development, finding technical solutions and review/provide input into customer driven designs,
• Provide design recommendations for both custom residential and commercial systems
• Provide post-sales support to insure proper integration of system components
• Create customer documentation, including application notes, technical bulletins and local manuals
• Supports purchasing with defined specifications and sourcing of specialized supplier components
• Support development of training materials for training department
• Ability to travel nationally/internationally.
• Perform other duties as requested and required. Provide back up for other positions when required.
Qualifications:
• B.S. degree in applicable field
• Minimum 7 years in related product industry
• Experience in the ability to identify and design various hydronic engineering solutions
• Experience in application engineering experience: Layouts, Controls, Systems, Solar.
• Experience in developing proposals
• Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office including Project Manager, Powerpoint software tools.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Proven experience working as a member of a cross-functional team on new product introductions and system integrations.
• Ability to communicate effectively to multiple levels through written, electronic and verbal media
• Track record of successful execution.
• Project management experience.
