A User Experience Designer is responsible for defining solutions that meet clients’ business goals and target audience needs. The UX Designer focuses on end user research, content organization and classification (information architecture), user interface & interaction design and optimizing usability. Other responsibilities for client projects include:


·      Work closely with clients to help define target audience needs and motivational factors and translate them into concepts for compelling interactions and experiences


·      Work with a strategist or be prepared to lead the definition of clients’ business requirements; business and project goals to be referenced with every UX deliverable


·      Plan, lead and/or participate in immersive user research, concept testing, card sorting, and usability testing


·      Leverage client documentation and lead key-stakeholder working sessions to understand a projects’ functional requirements and document them


·      Create user profiles, personas, process flows, site maps, and wireframes to precisely detail users’ experience and interaction specifications through an application and/or web site


·      Categorize/organize dense levels of content that promotes good information architecture  for a web site or web application (scalable and searchable, and implementable within a CMS)


·      Provide subject matter expertise for best practices in information architecture, interaction design, and usability


 


In addition to project work, the User Experience Designer has internal responsibilities,
which include:


 


·      Participate in scoping new work, creating realistic UX estimates, and possibly participate in client pitch presentations


·      Foster an environment that enables great work for the sake of business and results


·      Strive to raise the level of expertise of the User Experience department


·      Contribute to Cramer’s UX process and methodology


·      Communicate well with project team (designers, front end developers, developers, strategists, project managers etc.) to foster collaboration on projects


 


Qualifications:


 



  • Degree in a related field, such as human-computer interaction, library science, graphic design, industrial design, or equivalent experience.

  • More than 3 years experience developing interactive products/solutions

  • At least 2 years experience as an information architect, interaction designer, or experience designer

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

  • Experience in client services and formalized client requirements gathering experience

  • Experience observing user research and translating user research into design decisions

  • Strong human factors and usability analysis skills

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Visio

  • Experience with CMS implementations is a plus

  • Experience integrating media (i.e., video) into rich web interfaces is a plus
