ENPRO is a full-service environmental contracting/consulting firm headquartered in Newburyport, MA with service centers located in Pembroke, NH, Portland, ME and Burlington, VT.  With the pending retirement of ENPRO’s current Treasurer & Controller along with a plan to replace ENPRO’s computerized accounting system there is a unique opportunity for a qualified candidate to step-in and learn ENPRO’s systems while sourcing and implementing a new accounting package.

By virtue of the complexities and unknowns involved in providing environmental remediation and emergency response services ENPRO has a very demanding and fast paced work environment that presents constant change and challenges along with elements of risk requiring experienced management.  With a diverse workforce of approximately 100 employees operating company owned equipment ENPRO has strategically expanded throughout the greater northeast and is now focused on leveraging its marketplace positioning as a quality service provider offering turnkey capabilities.  ENPRO’s client base is comprised of private and public sector entities providing routine and repeat services along with special event projects that combined generate in excess of $15M in annual revenue.  All facets of ENPRO’s work necessitate the highest priority on health and safety and compliance with stringent regulatory requirements.      

ENPRO’s Corporate Controller is hands-on responsible for all accounting and financial reporting functions of the company, including but not limited to:

ü  Day-to-day accounting and reporting of cash position and the forecasting of cash needs;

ü  Monitoring of annual budgets, e.g. marketing and capital acquisitions;

ü  Preparing and analyzing internal financial statements, pro-forma statements, cash flow analyses, and other specified reports;

ü  Managing internal financial controls;

ü  Managing compliance with federal, state and local fees and tax schedules:

ü  Managing and enhancing day-to-day banking relationship;

ü  Interacting with external CPA firm to produce interim and year-end audited statements;

ü  Managing accounting staff – primarily accounts payable position;

ü  Reviewing the fine detail of contract agreements with clients and vendors and recommending changes as appropriate to manage risk;

ü  Working with and advising company owner(s) with regards to all aspects of sound financial management.

Qualifications and attributes:

ü  At a minimum a Bacheleor’s Degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance is required with preference given to MBA or CPA qualifications;

ü  A minimum of 5 to 10 years of senior level accounting experience is required with preference given to regional environmental or construction experience;

ü  Demonstrated team-leadership experience and team-player qualities;

ü  Senior decision making experience;

ü  Tolerance for change and challenge;

ü  IT savvy.

This position will be afforded a competitive base salary in the range of $65,000 to $95,000 along with access to comprehensive medical and dental benefits, 401(k) retirement program and paid vacations and holidays.
