DESCRIPTION
This is a newly created role responsible for defining and creating the organization's overall approach to project management and working across EMD Serono to implement this new capability on identified strategic change initiatives as well as broadly in the company. This Project Management role is new and it must align multiple key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation across the organization. This position will work on multiple on-going projects and must ensure progress, budget and timelines are met.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish "One" project management philosophy and approach for EMD Serono to be utilized across functions and business units in alignment with global and overall US strategy.
- Ensure consistency and alignment across the organization including persistent follow-up and training to ensure project management philosophy is embraced and delivers desired impact into the organization.
- Drive projects across business units and with global counterparts where applicable. Partner with key stakeholders; create and confirm project plans; manage to established timelines, budgets and deliverables to ensure successful; completion and/or implementation of the project.
- Provide leadership to implement strategic, cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving the overall effectiveness of how the US organization operates.
- Partner with organization's Strategic Priority Team members to ensure commitment to process improvement and project management approach is followed.
- Serve as an expert in the Project Management space, following a formalized methodology and discipline, ideally a LEAN Six-Sigma-style methodology and approach that is most relevant for our company.
EDUCATION LEVEL AND LANGUAGES REQUIRED- MBA preferred
- Six Sigma Black Belt level preferred. Knowledge of LEAN Six Sigma methodologies and disciplines required.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, QUALIFICATONS AND EXPERIENCE- Minimum 10 years experience with project/program management and implementing/introducing these capabilities and methodologies into an organization.
- Minimum 10 years in the Pharmaceutical, Bio-tech or Life Sciences Industries required.
- Previous launch experience, ideally in the Neurology, Endocrinology or Oncology Therapeutic areas.
- Formalized Project Management training is required -Six Sigma (Black Belt Level) preferred, LEAN PMP or other formalized training will be considered.
- Experience with project management approaches, systems, project scheduling, scoping, budgeting, cost analyses, resource analyses, and reporting.
- Solid Analytical Background.
COMPETENCIES (knowledge, skills, abilities, traits)- Strong team orientation with the ability to influence cross functional groups at a senior level.
- Solid business acumen.
- Process orientation related to project management and implementation.
- Solid analytical skills.
- Knowledge of medical, regulatory, clinical, concepts strongly preferred.
