Microsoft Business Development Manager
About the Job
BITadvisors is currently seeking an experienced Microsoft Business Development Manager for its Microsoft Consulting Practice. This position will be responsible for developing new strategic client relationships in the Boston, Connecticut, and NY/NJ Metro regions, specifically focused on Microsoft solution sales. A successful individual in this role would have the ability to develop, grow and manage a Microsoft-focused sales team.
Responsibilities include:
- Prospecting for Microsoft consulting engagements (outside of existing BITadvisors client base) in mid-market and Enterprise companies across a wide range of industries
- Business development activities with prospects to identify BI technology solution needs and develop long-term business relationships
- Develop and execute go-to market programs in conjunction with marketing and solution groups to achieve solution strategy objectives
- Qualification and follow-up of sales leads developed through BITadvisors marketing efforts
- Develop relationships with Microsoft Account Representatives to maximize client relationships and opportunities
- Possess strong knowledge of Microsoft BI solutions, organizational structure, service offerings and Solution Selling methodology
- Develop a regional business plan to support growth and branch office objectives
- Expand existing client relationships to sell additional Microsoft solutions and services
- Preparation of proposals and Statements of Work (SOW)
- Supporting pre-sales efforts to build sales for the group as well as conducting client demonstrations and external marketing presentations
Requirements include:
- 5 years minimum proven track record selling consulting services
- Active rolodex of clients, contacts and relationsihps desirable
- Verifiable success in selling Microsoft consulting projects such as Microsoft SharePoint, SQL Server BI and .NET services
- Familiarity and experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 desirable
- Reliable track record of building and maintaining strategic relationships with contacts ranging from C level to middle management
- Possess strategic selling skills and experience
- Strong verbal and written communications skills as well as good time-management and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to independently develop proposals and respond to RFP/RFIs tailored to clients needs
- Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Exhibit strong relationship building skills and consultative selling techniques
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
This position will start with strong base salary and commission plan commensurate with experience.
