Canton based Generator Service Company seeks an Assistant Service Manager for our telecommunications division. Qualified candidates will be results driven, willing to follow the lead of the Service Manager; however the successful candidate is expected to bring their own ideas to the team. This job requires excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with both our field technicians and our subcontractors.
The ideal candidate should have "hands on" experience in any one or more of the following trades: HVAC, Electrical, Gas/Diesel Engines, and AC power distribution systems (Automatic Transfer Switching and Generators). Applicants with previous telecommunication and/or management experience are a plus.
Duties involve multiple, simultaneous projects and tasks in a fast paced, mission critical environment. There is continuous contact with customers, field personnel, sales/parts/accounting departments. The Assistant Service Manager needs to have a sense of urgency for goal achievement as well as anticipating and trouble-shooting problems. The ability to stay focused despite changing conditions is a required skill. There is critical follow-up and accountability on all tasks.
Responsibilities include:
Qualified candidates must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Position involves the use of computers & related technology/software/databases, MS Office (including excel) and database experience (ESC by Desco a plus). Bachelors degree or 5 years relevant experience required.
Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, however FM Generator is a 24/7 Emergency Response Company, there will be need/opportunity to work out of normal hours during severe weather and power outages.
