Merrimack College, a four year private institution located in North Andover, MA, is seeking a Director of Accounting to join its Finance Department team. The Director of Accounting will report to the Director of Fiscal Affairs and be a key member of the management team with a particular focus on the management of financial reporting, budget preparation, and the day-to-day accounting operations of a dynamic institution.

This is a roll up your sleeves, hands-on role where responsibilities will include leading\performing month and year end close activities, financial reporting, preparation of financial statements and related analysis, account reconciliation, assistance in coordination of external audits\regulatory reporting, and supervision of staff.

To be considered for this role you must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, at least four years of progressive experience in a similar environment, and be a licensed CPA. Strong systems knowledge and advanced Excel skills are required. Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are essential. Experience in Higher Education strongly preferred.
