Candidate will employee LC and LC/MS based biopharmaceutical applications in the development, evaluation and competitive positioning of Chromatographic Systems destined for the Biopharmaceutical market. Will also serve as an advisor to the various teams tasked with the development and marketing of new systems. The successful candidate will have experience in the structural characterization of proteins, peptides, glycans, oligonucleotides and small molecules using LC/MS. Will also show a proven track record of presentations at technical seminars, publication in peer reviewed journals and knowledge of the biopharmaceutical market.
Responsibilities
•Close collaboration with product managers in definition, development and evaluation of new instrument systems
•Regular interaction with instrument engineering, software programming, and chemistry research during the development of the finished products
•Definition and differentiation of system performance for both customer-facing and internal collateral
•Regular interaction with marketing to ensure product and requirements are in agreement
•Providing proof statements and other required materials for systems launch
•Development and delivery of training for Waters internal and field personnel
•Identification of unique systems synergies that provide customer benefits and competitive advantages
•Compare performance and features of competitive products
•Developing component and system level troubleshooting
•Support for customers and Waters field in personnel in system use and troubleshooting
•Preparing and presenting scientific material to customers in support of marketing and sales at for example, technical meetings and seminars
Qualifications
•M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biology discipline
•8 or more years experience in biochemistry and bioseparations
•Experience in analytical instrument industry strongly preferred
•Experience in field activities in analytical instrument industry desired
•Expertise in HPLC, UPLC, MS and CE
•Proven ability and initiative to learn new technologies and techniques
•Team player with excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and work assignments simultaneously
•Available for extensive travel, both domestic and international
