Director of Development

Bridgewell is a leading provider of services to people with disabilities focused on improving the lives and abilities of people with developmental disabilities, psychiatric challenges and the homeless. Our services include day and residential supports in locations ranging from just north of Boston up and through the Merrimack Valley.

We are seeking an experienced Director of Development to engage the community in supporting our mission through strategic management of our fund development efforts. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Development will be part of senior management and supervise the Marketing Manager.

Key Responsibilities include:
• Design, implement and manage fundraising strategies in line with established goals and consistent with the mission of Bridgewell.
• Expand donor participation through successful event planning, annual appeals, and foundation grants.
• Explore and evaluate feasibility of planned giving programs, major gifts and capital campaigns.
• Build relationships with families, community and business leaders to increase visibility and agency awareness.
• Oversee the development of all written and electronic marketing materials to maximize education of stakeholders in our mission, services and goals.
• Manage internal and external communications and marketing function.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, applicants must have a minimum of five years experience and a proven track record in developing strategies and attaining goals in a fund development leadership capacity.

In addition, you must have experience in:
• Event planning, donor solicitation, community relations, and media relations.
• Marketing collateral development – both electronic and print.
• Exemplary writing and presentation skills.
• Planning, organizing and multi-tasking skills.
