Job Title: Manager, Accounting

Location:  Lawrence, MA

SUMMARY:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing all of the day to day general accounting activities including the general ledger close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collections, payroll, billing and cash transactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage a general accounting staff of eight people covering a broad range of functions.
• Manage and perform month end close functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, account analysis and financial statement preparation and review.
• Manage the billing process for three different business units. Transition this function from Customer Service to Finance and focus on process improvement.
• Manage the daily operational transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collections and payroll.
• Manage daily cash transactions and cash balance reporting.
• Responsible for process improvement in all financial transactions.
• Responsible for establishing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
• Support external audits as required and participate actively in implementing and maintaining compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
• Provide adhoc analytics for Corporate Controller and the CFO as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting with 8-10 years of related hands on experience including full close and general ledger responsibilities.
• CPA/MBA preferred.
• Strong management and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of revenue recognition requirements.
• Superior financial and analysis skills; strong knowledge of MS Excel is essential.
• Proven track record meeting deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate business and financial results in a concise, straightforward manner.
• Detail oriented and well organized. Able to work independently.
•  Ability to work in a fastpaced environment. Comfortable with change.
• Demonstrated track record of achievement and career successes.
