Job Description:

SUMMARY: 
Program Manager with minimum 10 years hardware and software engineering experience and minimum 5 years program management experience to lead engineering teams for product design, development, support and test of stabilization and guidance products, built upon KVH’s proprietary fiber optic gyro technology. Responsibilities include program management of the hardware development team and the management of the cross-functional team to develop and release products into manufacturing and the marketplace. Will develop and track plans via schedules and budgets for the development effort and for new product introduction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    Other duties may be assigned.
• Responsible for leading cross functional development teams to meet product performance, costs, and schedule goals.
• Responsible for working within KVH’s New Product Development Process, which encompasses activities across the entire product life cycle.
• Responsible to coordinate and write marketing and engineering requirements documents, statements of work, specifications, develop schedules, development budgets and cost of goods estimates.
• Direct cross functional team to develop new products based on customer specifications.
• Establish and monitor critical project milestones in order to meet customer requirements.
• Communicate projects status to management.
• Negotiate and administer contracts.
• Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to program master plans and schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• BSEE, MSEE preferred. Optics background a plus.

• Experience with direct management and supervision of engineers, technicians, and support specialists in a design or development environment. Hands on/contributor.
• Experience in project management and product development for commercial products.
• Experience in performing project planning, tracking, and oversight activities with occasional travel as necessary to perform management and oversight of outside vendors or contractors.
• Effective experience interfacing with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Product management, and outside vendors and contractors
• Team builder, proactive problem solver, self-driven.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
