The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of the annual and monthly budget and any financial/business analysis and reporting that is needed by management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Prepares all budgets and forecasts for both annual and monthly periods.
Prepares any financial/key business analysis as requested by senior management.
Assists with information gathering and distribution to employees regarding the budget.
Assist with the compilation of monthly reports for distribution to management team.
Assist Vice President of Finance in establishing standard operating procedures including the
development and maintenance of a system of internal controls.
Prepares monthly financial statements for reporting to AEG, outside investors and various agencies.
Monitors and reports on spending as it relates to budgets.
Assists with student record information, collection, FTE reporting and transmission to agencies if applicable.
Records data relating to bank transactions for reporting purposes.
Assists with collections of accounts receivable outstanding.
Prepares monthly work papers on assigned general ledger accounts.
Assists with account analyses and special projects, as necessary
Manages all fixed assets (if assigned)
Assists with any audits.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must have extensive computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Familiarity with accounting/bookkeeping software (Great Plains, Quickbooks). A very high level of knowledge of Excel is preferred. This individual must be well organized and able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. It is important that this individual work well within a team whenever called upon to assume that role within the department. This position requires individual decision making abilities and the assumption of the responsibility for those decisions.
