Description

To provide Senior Management with an accurate evaluation of new business opportunities based on a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, customer segments and future trends.

Responsibilities

The Commercial Assessment Manager will be responsible for evaluating and quantifying the US market potential for pipeline products, in-licensing deals and new business opportunities. The Manager will work closely with Business Development, Emerging Therapies and BI to provide an in-depth assessment of market landscape, current and future competitors, market trends and potential opportunities and risks. Additionally, as time permits, the Manager will have responsibilities related to forecasting of in-line products and for brand performance analysis and reporting.

Commercial Assessment & Evaluation

Provide clear, thorough and consistent analysis regarding:

  • Market potential
  • Current & future competitors
  • Market trends
  • Commercial opportunities and risks
  • Work cross functionally with Business Development, New Therapies, TAs, CPO Organization and Managed Markets, to gain a complete and thorough understanding of market landscape and commercial potential

Responsible for analyzing, correlating and integrating all available data sources in order to provide accurate valuation of pipeline, in-licensing and new business opportunities, including:

  • Secondary market audits
  • Primary market research
  • Competitive intelligence
  • Industry reports
  • Epidemiology databases
  • Clinical literature
  • Analyst reports
  • Responsible for developing financial models including NPV and risk adjusted NPV for new business opportunities

In-Line Forecasting

As time permits, participate in developing and maintaining robust quantitative statistical forecast models based on historic time-series, patient models and causal methods.

Market & Brand Reporting

  • As time permits, work with Associate Director, Business Analysis and Forecasting and Business Analyst on developing and publishing market and brand performance reports
  • Provide Senior Management a clear understanding regarding products performance, market trends and potential risks and opportunities through ad-hock analyses and reports

Education Level & Languages Required

  • MBA
  • English required


Professional Skills & Experience

  • 3 years experience in commercial assessment, valuation analysis or forecasting
  • Biotech/pharmaceutical, investment banking or consulting experience required

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and oral)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence others in a tactful and well thought-out manner with supporting information and logic
