The Acushnet Rubber Company, Inc. d.b.a. Precix, a Massachusetts manufacturer of focused elastomeric solutions through engineering expertise, precision and innovation, has an immediate opening for a Senior Production & Inventory Planner.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Production and Inventory Planner is responsible for the process of planning, scheduling, issuing, controlling, and reporting of manufacturing shop orders as well as for managing personnel and activities related to production planning. This role will lead the teams in continuous improvement with a goal of achieving 100% on time delivery. He/she will be responsible for managing inventory activities in order to ensure that proper levels and accuracy are maintained.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, prepare, issue and control production shop orders
- Develop systems to improve planning efficiency and effectiveness
- Resolve problems affecting production schedules and implement preventative actions
- Supervise and coordinate activities of teams engaged in production scheduling
- Analyze system failures and lead process improvements
- Develop and maintain analytical reports for operations management
- Analyze customer demands and make recommendations regarding manning levels, schedules and capacity constraints
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
This position reports to the company’s Senior Operations Manager. The Senior Production and Inventory Planner will work closely with the manufacturing section managers and members of the scheduling and customer service teams. There is also significant interaction with other departments within the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience in leading change utilizing lean principles
- Must possess strong analytical abilities, math skills and statistical analysis skills
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications is needed
- Experience working with Oracle ERP systems is desired
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing production environment
- Proven knowledge of customer service and operations planning is required
- APICS certification and experience in lean manufacturing techniques is desired
