Power Engineer III

About the Job

Position Summary:

Power Engineer III is responsible for working on the design of new and novel power systems and devises topologies for various plasma sources to be used for semiconductor manufacturing.  The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly technical setting, and successfully interact with members of other organizations in a cross-functional development environment. A successful candidate must be highly self-motivated and have a fundamental understanding of power electronics, control systems, thermal management, packaging, EMC and magnetic design.

Position Details:

·        Design and prototype high frequency (30kHz-1MHz) high power (1kW to 50kW) switch mode circuitry

·        Design, spec and prototype magnetic components and work closely with a cross functional group to establish the feasibility of applying various power topologies for dynamic plasma loads.

·        Apply best known engineering practices to solve problems with power, analog, digital, and mixed signal circuits.

·        Work with manufacturing engineering on release and documentation of new hardware, test equipment, and assembly fixtures.

·        Participate in the reliability program definition and drive continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements:

·        MSEE in Electrical with 5 or more years of experience with power electronics design or a BSEE with 10 years experience designing switch mode power circuitry

·        Expertise in designing high efficiency power inverters

·        Experience with low frequency RF driven plasmas and semiconductor processing a plus.

·        Abililty to design, prototype and support layout of analog, digital and mixed signal circuits

·        Familiarity with modern control system design.

·        Ability to apply analytical methods to solve design problems. Familiar with simulation packages including SPICE, PSIM and Matlab
