Senior QA Manager

The Senior QA Manager will lead the charge on our QA processes and procedures, working with the Development Team and Product Management as we introduce a cross-functional agile development practice, and create a structure that will facilitate rapid design, development and delivery of high quality product releases. Our current QA engineers will report to you, as you oversee the development of detailed test plans, procedures and reports. This is a hands-on role that also includes active testing as a significant portion of the job.
The ideal candidate is someone who has a strong understanding of SaaS and web-based applications, is detail-oriented, loves to get things done efficiently and well, and is motivated by delivering quality software that solves customers’ problems.
Key Responsibilities:
è Fully accountable for the QA for all product releases, so must be able to define the process and execute the plan from beginning to end
è Executes test plans for own product categories/projects
è Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion by coordinating work activities with release deadlines.
è Ensures that project staffing and resource needs are met.
è Ensures staff is appropriately trained for assigned duties.
è Has in-depth knowledge of work processes and tools within own area.
è Develops project plans, work assignments, target dates, deliverables and other aspects of assigned projects to satisfy the user/customer quality and validation/qualification requirements
è Leads the preparation, planning and documentation of all QA activities: test plans, test scenarios, entrance/exit criteria, timelines, defect tracking, and deployment, issue, and risk assessments.
è Uncovers errors or deficiencies in processes and deliverables, identifies strengths and opportunities for improvements in productivity and quality
è Resolves day-to-day or routine problems using defined processes.
è Career development, coaching and performance management of the QA team members.
è Supports the introduction and implementation of agile scrum methodologies into the design, development, QA and product release process.
è Coordinates and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders
è Compiles daily, weekly and trend quality and test status dashboards
è Stays current with process-related industry standards
Qualifications:
Candidate must be highly self-motivated, collaborative, demonstrate a strong work ethic, able to manage multiple releases at different stages of the product lifecycle, passionate about enabling mutual success for customers and our growing business, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
è Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related area.
è Minimum of 5 yrs of prior management of QA resources assigned to web-based applications delivered in a SaaS model.
è 2-4 years of prior experience in a QA application development environment.
è In-depth knowledge of testing processes and methodologies
è Experience leading/implementing agile/scrum processes
è Understanding of all phases of the software development lifecycle.
è Thorough knowledge and use of process improvement and quality management methods, tools and technologies used to create and support the delivery of high quality application software
è Thorough knowledge and experience conducting risk analysis quality assessments.
è Experience with test automation
è Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
è Familiarity with CRM tools, particularly Salesforce,com and/or Siebel/Oracle CRM.
è Proven track record of:

§ communicating with individuals at a level appropriate for the audience
