Join us now as an Accounts Payable Accountant.
Position Description
In this newly created position you will utilize your Accounting education and experience with enterprise level accounting software to perform general accounting functions and support for new business efforts.
Essential Functions:
· Coordinates project accounting functions with project administrators and assists with special projects and reporting as directed. Provides support for preparation of cost proposals for new business efforts.
· Audits contracts, purchase orders, and vouchers. Prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
· Accounts Payable Responsibilities include maintaining A/P vendor and consultant files. This involves efficiently processing accounts payable invoices and expense reports, coding to appropriate G/L accounts, and processing weekly check/wire payment runs. Other duties include reconciling accounts payable accounts, vendor expense accounts, and monthly schedules of designated G/L accounts.
· Performs general accounting functions including processing 1099 tax information, assisting with audit preparation, processing payments to vendors, maintaining secondary ledgers for travel advances, prepaid expenses, and Corporate American Express cards.
Working Relationships:
· Maintain courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. Interacts with Project Operations staff as appropriate.
· Develop and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with clients, vendors, and/or any other representatives of external organizations.
Qualifications:
· A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; or an appropriate combination of education and accounting or finance experience may be considered.
· A minimum of three years experience in an A/P accounting position using enterprise level accounting software.
· Microsoft Office Suite application skills are required. Ability to prepare reports and other appropriate documentation.
· Successful candidate will be adaptable, flexible and have the ability to work well with clients and co-workers.
Working Conditions:
The work is performed in an office where the noise level is usually very quiet to moderate.
