Application Support Specialist

About the Job

This role supports our direct mail database clients’ from system implementation, through support and direct mail list file processing output. You will focus on performing data selects, postal presorting, mail file processing, issue troubleshooting, system testing, user training. Must be able to think logically, have good communication skills, work in a fast paced environment and enjoy interfacing with clients.


 


Major Job Functions:




  • Interface with clients on a daily basis to support their database questions and needs.

  • Perform database related tasks to output mail files and reports.
  • Maintain quality support efforts along with other Application Support personnel.
  • Review, analyze and evaluate user requests and recommend solutions to solve problems and make enhancements to our systems and services.
  • Work with staff to achieve the highest level of customer service and satisfaction possible.
  • Writing and maintenance of user documentation and training materials.
  • Analyze client installation needs and requirements, development of implementation plans.
  • Facilitate system installations and conversions.
  • Develop data configuration and conversion plans into our systems.
  • System training and user support.
  • Interface with development programmers to communicate client needs and processes.
  • Help coordinate database system implementation (with both client and internal programming staff).
  • Development and quality assurance of fundraising database applications.
  • Ensure our software is easy to use and meets the needs and expectations of clients.

Required Education/Skills:

 


·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and related work experience.

 


·         Working with relational databases.

 


·         FoxPro knowledge a plus.

 


·         Knowledge of fundraising.

 


·         Strong analysis and communication skills.

 


·         Strong personal computer skills.

 


·         Must be self-motivated.

 


 


Required Experience:


·         Experience with direct mail data processing applications a must.

 


·         Experience with contact management systems and database management applications.

 


·         Experience in a customer support role, speaking directly with clients.

 


·         Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
