Job description:

Join an exciting new company engaged in the discovery and development of novel RNAi-based therapeutics.  Dicerna Pharmaceuticals is looking for a BS/MS scientist to join its oncology drug discovery effort.  This position requires strong expertise in molecular and cellular methodologies, and will initially involve extensive molecular and cellular assay development and performance, aimed at advancing oncology drug candidates. 

Requirements: This position requires a BS/MS in a relevant field and a minimum 3+ years of postgraduate laboratory experience; candidates with prior experience in drug discovery in an industrial setting will be strongly preferred. Expertise in cellular and molecular biology is essential (e.g.mammalian cell culture; cell-based assays; quantitative real-time PCR; western blotting; immunofluorescent staining); experience with histology, in vivo assays and disease models is preferred.  Familiarity with signal transduction pathways and molecular oncology is an asset.  General familiarity with computers is essential (Excel; data analysis). The individual should have strong oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to group projects in a team-oriented environment.  Ability to perform and interpret experiments reliably, and to advance projects aggressively towards definited goals is expected.
