Lightower Fiber Network’s Corporate Office in Boxborough, MA is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The financial analyst will provide critical financial support in the areas of finance, sales and operations. The emphasis will be on gathering data from multiple systems and creating analysis and reports that will enable management to make effective and efficient business decisions and process improvements. In addition, the analyst will build and maintain forecasting, budgeting, profitability models and ad hoc models to drive business profitability and efficiency. The analyst will work with management and cross functionally with members from all departments across the organization. The position will report to the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extensive data mining and analysis from various systems and sources to support the basis for various models and analysis
- Assist with the annual budgeting process
- Develop and prepare key operational and financial metrics for Senior Management and Board of Directors
- Develop and update forecasting models and related analysis for Senior Management
- Analyze financial and operational performance to identify trends, opportunities and risks.
- Create and provide value added analysis and recommendations
- Maintain and continually improve the analysis of key business drivers and deal analysis models that enable the sales team to analyze opportunities
- Work in a corporate development function to analyze M&A opportunities and footprint expansion activities
- Prepare financial and operational benchmark analysis of comparable peer group companies
- Assist with reporting and analysis for the monthly close and annual audits
- Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis
- Assist with preparation of Senior Management and Board of Directors presentations
Position Requirements:
Primary Required Skill & Abilities:
- 1-3 years experience in financial analysis (I-banking / FP&A consulting preferred)
- Excellent Excel and complex financial modeling skills
- Strong understanding of accounting (experience with Solomon Accounting System / FRx Reporting is a plus)
- Ability to work with large amounts of data
- Superior problem solving and high degree of energy
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Candidate should be highly organized and detail oriented, with strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced setting
- Creative thinker and self starter
Education and Industry Experience:
- MBA/MS finance or BA/BS with equivalent experience
- Telecommunication industry background a plus
Travel:
- Some travel may be required throughout the Northeast (NY, Boston, Hudson Valley)
