Production Associate-Part-Time
**One part-time position is available from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday **
Staples Industrial is a business unit of Staples, Inc. We market and distribute industrial and retail packaging, shipping and warehouse products to thousands of small and mid-sized manufacturers, distributors and retailers throughout the US and Canada. We offer over 7,500 industrial and retail packaging and shipping products, and our product line includes a wide variety of polyethylene bags, corrugated boxes, tape, labels, protective packaging, mailers, retail shopping bags and related packaging supplies. Our sales channels include Catalog/Direct Mail, the Internet and Outside Sales.
We have an opening in our Clinton fulfillment center for a part-time Production Associate.
Position Summary:
• Affixes sticker to empty packing carton. • Selects box size according to size of order. • Fills order from picking list. When shortages occur, contacts Warehouse Associate and/or Inventory Control to determine if product is available. • Sends fulfilled orders to verification, manifestation and staging areas. • Verifies the following: order number on cartons, quantity of item, model number, unit of measure and damage. • Corrects any errors and notes discrepancies on QC sheet and notifies Lead or Supervisor. • Provides feedback to supervisors and associates on order filling accuracy. • Places proper amount of packing material in each box and fold flap. • Runs boxes through heat tunnel or wrapping station and places boxes on conveyor. • Completes all tasks accurately and completely in order to meet internal/external customer requirements. • Waves, prints and sorts orders. • Performs basic cleaning and preventative maintenance on printers, i.e. changing labels and ribbon. • Carries orders out to warehouse floor. • Notifies leadership of volume, system or mechanical issues. • Uses and maintains RF (radio frequency) equipment; Adheres to usage procedures. • Scans merchandise from pallets for correct quantity, model number, SKU number and slot number using RF equipment. • Cuts cases of product to prepare merchandise for picking. • Performs all tasks to ensure a safe work environment for all associates. • Maintains a clean and neat work space at all times. • Seeks to improve processes and communicates to co-workers and management. • Performs all job tasks in all departments necessary to serve customers and support team • Perform other duties as necessary and assigned. • Works as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner. • Maintains dependable, regular attendance. • Works overtime as needed. Qualifications: • Basic knowledge of arithmetic. • Ability to read, write and count. • Above average product knowledge required. • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment. • High school diploma or GED
