The Director of Quality and Safety reports to the Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer. The Director of Quality and Safety is responsible for the integration and operations of all quality, patient safety, infection control, risk management, medical staff credential functions and activities necessary to assure effective utilization of the hospital's resources and to maintain the highest quality of care achievable. Responsible for compliance with all Joint Commission standards and preparedness for survey(s). The Director of Quality and Safety will provide vision and leadership throughout the hospital for continuous improvement of clinical excellence and service quality outcomes.
Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in Massachusetts. Master's degree required or enrolled in Master's Degree Program.
CPHQ or CPHRM preferred.
5 years+ in acute care hospital management with working knowledge of healthcare quality and patient safety management, benchmarking, outcome measurement, team development, and quality/safety tools. Highly developed organizational, interpersonal, and management skills. Ability to maximize output to multiple deadlines, while maintaining a calm demeanor. Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft office applications is required. Current experience with hospital information system.
