Director, Internal Audit (Corporate Analysis and Control) - Natick Global HQ

Position Summary

The Director, Corporate Analysis and Control will provide strong leadership and vision to the corporate audit function.He or she will promote high quality controls, financial reports and information systems and will lead audit teams to provide independent and objective assurance services that improve Boston Scientific operations.This position will be responsible for communicating the internal audit plans and results of reviews with business unit management, and region and division finance and controllership leaders.In addition, the Director and his or her team will serve as internal consultants, providing analysis of operational issues such as process re-engineering, external benchmarking and operational efficiencies.

The individual hired will be a broadly skilled finance and business executive who can lead and develop the audit function for several years and then contribute to the company’s financial management in another role, including in the absence of the Vice President, Corporate Analysis and Control this individual could provide the essential leadership to the group.Team leadership skills are essential and the Director, Corporate Analysis and Control will provide professional development, mentorship and support to the geographically dispersed team.He or she will be expected to travel to the company’s facilities around the U.S. and around the world.Ideal candidates will have strong leadership and communication skills and will be adept at presenting and interacting at the senior management level with business leaders across the company.

Major Responsibilities


Lead the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Analysis and Control organization, in partnership with the Vice President, Corporate Analysis and Control.Assist the Vice President in setting the direction and objectives for the organization, and proactively identify opportunities for Corporate Analysis and Control to add value to the Company.Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures and maintain the highest ethical standards throughout the organization.



Develop the CA&C Strategic Audit Plan, with the Vice President, Corporate Analysis and Control, and update the Strategic Audit Plan throughout the year based on regular communication with management and the results of audits performed.Assist the VP CA&C with preparation of regular senior leadership and board updates based on audit results and identification of risk themes.



Coordinate the annual risk management approach to determine whether the organization’s network of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning in a manner to ensure:

Risks are appropriately identified and managed;
Effective and efficient controls are in place and functioning;
Company resources are adequately safeguarded and effectively used;
Significant financial, managerial, and operating information is accurate, reliable, and timely;
Reliable business systems and processes are in place; and
Processes are in place to effectively monitor compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.





Ensure audit teams conduct thorough and independent audits focused on evaluation of internal control design and effectiveness, accuracy and completeness of financial records, effectiveness and efficiency of operational controls and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
