We believe that people are our strength and appreciate your interest in EBSCO Publishing. EP’s Services Engineering group is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer.

The Senior Software Engineer is a key contributor to the EBSCOhost Database Services development team. In this role you will analyze, design, develop and sustain enterprise-scale database services including configuration, personalization, authentication, and session management. Work closely and collaboratively with Development, QA, Product Management and stakeholders to design and implement new features and enhancements.

Essential functions include:

·         Analyze functional requirements and accurately scope and estimate projects.

·         Write software design specifications and supporting documentation for projects.

·         Develop and sustain software systems (middle-ware, database tables, stored procedures) following design/development best practices to ensure software is reliable, maintainable, extensible, and fast.

·         Work with QA to develop comprehensive test plans and performance metrics. Create unit tests for continuous integration.

·         Troubleshoot and fix defects as needed.

·         Foster a collaborative, respectful working environment.

Required qualifications include:

  •  MA/MS Computer Science plus 5 years or BS plus 7 years software development experience.
  • 5+ years object-oriented development experience.
  • 3+ years experience with MS SQL Server including table design, stored procs, query profiling and database performance tuning.
  • 3+ years experience with C#/.NET, NAnt, and NUnit.
  • 2+ years of ASP.NET and web development experience.
  • 1+ years experience using ETL technologies with RDBMS.
