About the Job


Still River Systems is building the Monarch 250™ Proton Beam Radiation Therapy System, a practical, cost-efficient, single-room PBRT system scaled for use at most cancer centers. Designed using state of the art engineering techniques and materials, the heart of the Monarch 250™ System is a compact, superconducting high field magnet, which directs a proton beam toward a precisely defined isocenter.


 


Included in the Monarch 250™ PBRT System is a cyclotron, the proton beam delivery system, a treatment couch with pendant control, a radiographic patient positioning system, proton beam treatment planning, and a link to a treatment record and verify system.


 


Controller


 


Still River Systems is looking for an experienced Controller to support bringing a medical device to market.


 


Position Summary: Provide vision, direction, and management for all aspects of the Company’s accounting operations:  internal and external financial reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and payroll.


 


Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


Financial Management


·      Oversee accounting policies, procedures and reporting.


·      Maintain all business and financial records in compliance with all State, Local and Federal regulations and laws.


·      Oversee the preparation, review, and reporting of financial statements, and accompanying analysis for management and Board of Directors in accordance with accounting, audit and tax standards.


·      Maintain effective and timely cash flow management.


·      Coordinate banking and investment services.


·      Work with Senior Management team and Budget Manager to develop the annual operating and capital budgets.


·      Provide timely accurate financial reports to management and the Board of Directors


·      Responsible for meeting tax requirements and filings.


·      Responsible for financial and other third party audits.


·      Respond to recommendations contained in financial and other third party audits.


 


Supervision


·      Manage accounting staff


·      Serve as a resource for all Senior and Key Managers.


 


Risk Management and Internal Controls


·      Maintain the organization’s insurance policies.


·      Oversee and provide guidance for policy management including adequate coverage, renewals, and costs. 


·      Maintain best practices according to accounting, audit and tax standards for privately held corporations  


·      Provide for appropriate segregation of duties among staff and secure systems of processing payments and contractual agreements with appropriate signature authority. 


 


Organization


·      Contribute to the development of a supportive and collaborative work environment through active participation in internal collaborations.

·      Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and function as a member of a team.


·      Ability to work effectively in a multicultural organization.


 


Qualifications:



Successful candidates will have a:


·      Bachelor’s Degree and degree in accounting or finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred


·      Minimum of five to seven years work experience in accounting, and/or finance management with duties and responsibilities of a similar nature.


·      Sarbanes Oxley awareness and knowledge ability


·      Medical device and / or manufacturing experience a plus


·      Experience in audited environment required
