Sr. Electrical Engineer

Seahorse Bioscience (www.seahorsebioscience.com) is working with the world’s top Pharma’s to develop a novel in- vitro Biosensor technology for non-invasive, real-time profiling of metabolic flux in cells. These instruments will advance the state of the art for High Throughput Process Development, provide tools for metabolic characterization of cell function and support our customers in the research and development of new drug compounds.
Job Responsibilities:
As a key member of the development team, you will provide technical leadership, product line support and lead design, development and commercialization of electronic sub-systems used in our instruments.
Responsibilities will include:
· Specify, design and debug microcontroller based control systems, systems may include motion control, PID temperature control, GPIO, power conditioning/distribution, and optical sensing.
· Identify components and specifications, develop schematics, integrate and debug automation control systems (PC-104, PLC’s, stepper and servo control, valves, solenoids and pneumatic actuators).
· Test fixture design, programming, implementation, documentation and deployment
· Provide internal support and training to manufacturing and service personnel
· Participate in and lead integration, debug and commercialization of designs
Job Requirements:
This position requires a BSEE in Electrical Engineering, plus 6-10 years experience working with relevant electronic technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with the following:
· Hands on highly motivated self starter who can work with minimal supervision in a matrix team environment
· Prior experience with electronic instrumentation coupled with knowledge of digital and electronic circuit design (high gain, low noise amplifiers and signal processing)
· Prior experience with PCB layout and schematic capture using EDA tools (OrCad/Pads)
· Software development experience using Visual studio in VB, C++ or C#
· Prior experience with Safety and compliance testing
