Essential Function ' Deliver Best in Class, value added services for the benefit of our clients, employees, and investors through the application of computer and system technologies along with innovations in integrated global process management, data collections and analysis, and project and program management methodology. ' Work to understand the business by establishing an interface and maintaining good working relationships with WW PAREXEL business units and client IT organizations. ' Provide technical leadership to business units, working with them to recognize how technology can be applied to meet the needs of the business. ' Utilizing best program and project management practices, deliver quality solutions that fully address the stated goals and business objectives of the Corporation. ' Continuously improve and promote project management methodology, processes and style within WW IT. Ensure that all work performed meets or exceeds IT and PAREXEL standards, particularly in the areas of change control and validation. Work to achieve an effective balance between planning/control and execution. ' Provide leadership to WW IT and cross SBU teams. Promote collaboration and synergy via alignment of objectives and goals, coordination and communication. ' Lead the evaluation of new technologies. Co-ordinate worldwide infrastructure changes, and the transition of new technologies and services into the production environment ' Work with other IT Systems teams to promote and maintain standardization and integration of computing service environments across all PAREXEL worldwide locations. Relationships Reports To: Senior Director, (Associate) Director, (Senior) Manager. Provides work direction to: More junior team members. Works closely with: IT Top Management, All worldwide IT Teams, Business Drivers, PAREXEL Management, System/Network Managers, System/Support/Application Specialists, IT Staff, and PAREXEL Users. External relationships: Vendors, Consultants, and Clients.
Key Accountabilities ' Works collaboratively with Business areas and IT staff, providing a structured approach to complex joint planning and coordination of studies, analysis, projects and programs which support the implementation of new business programs, processes, procedures, applications and technologies. ' Manages Corporate and departmental programs and projects ensuring that the deliverables achieve Best Value results that meet the business goals and objectives of internal and external clients. ' Provides program and project management leadership, structure and direction to globally distributed, culturally diverse, and organizationally matrixed teams. Promotes team communication via regular team meetings. ' Assumes accountability for the actions and deliverables of the project team. ' Maintains an appropriate balance of planning, monitoring and execution to maximize the Corporate return on investment. ' Ensures that all project work is properly and appropriately documented in a manner that satisfies or exceeds the requirements of policies, procedures, best practice and regulatory agencies. ' Communicates issues and program/project status clearly and in a timely manner, based upon the tracking of quantitative metrics and milestones. ' Works in conjunction with other team members, business units, IT staff and clients to identify, track, escalate and resolve project / program related issues. ' Actively initiates and promotes an environment of co-evolving and collective learning within the Program & Account Management Team. Mentors and supports fellow team members. ' Contributes to the definition and development of worldwide operating procedures and standards. ' Works with IT Operations to identify and communicate necessary PAREXEL technical standards to sustain client needs which are compatible with the PAREXEL infrastructure. ' Keeps abreast of business trends, industry standards and technological trends. Shows evidence of professional awareness in technical activities outside of immediate employment where possible. ' Responsible for managing highly complex projects with cross SBU impact Education ' BS/MS Business, Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience.
Language Skills ' Native language and English as appropriate for the job level.
Minimum Work Experience ' Experience with project leadership and management in an international setting and familiarity with system analysis and project management methodology and/or possession of a strong background in a functional business area such as human resources, finance, accounting, marketing/sales or clinical studies. ' Highly motivated, self-starting individual who can see the big picture, but understands the need for process, detailed tracking and follow-through. ' Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to take structured approach to varied work assignments. ' Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, business understanding, facilitation, presentation and negotiation skills. Ability to communicate ideas concisely and in summary to all levels of management. ' Proven contributor who has the flexibility to work effectively and comfortably as an individual contributor, team member, team lead or manager within a dynamic, multi-tasking environment. ' Strong team player that is dedicated to making culturally diverse, geographically distributed teams successful. ' Excellent problem solving skills including the ability to learn technologies and absorb business problems quickly and make recommendations that fit business needs. ' Familiarity with program and project management tools and methodologies. ' Significant experience in a large, diverse, international organisation.
Training and Development ' Develop wider knowledge of broad areas of IS and IT, and its uses within PAREXEL. ' Develop thorough understanding of regulatory environment of the CRO industry.
