Position Responsibilities:

§         Strategic Commodity Management – Create commodity-level strategy and tactics to meet Sensata’s overall global supply objectives (i.e., continuity of supply, cost reduction, low cost country sourcing, etc.). Direct a team of globally-matrixed commodity resources in executing the global commodity plan.

§         Strategic Sourcing/Supply Base Development & Management – Supplier identification, evaluation, selection, performance management, supply base right-sizing, executive supplier interface, management of single/sole source relationships.

§         Contract Development and Negotiation – Development and negotiation of global supply and equipment agreements, including pricing road maps, Sensata’s standard terms and conditions, expectations, procurement best practices, risk mitigation, etc.

§         Program Management – Global Program Leader for key cost reduction programs.  These programs could include such things as supplier changes, supplier relocations to low cost regions, negotiations, design changes, etc.

§         Material Cost Reduction Reporting – Support the creation of all material cost reduction forecasts, including the Annual Plan (AP) with quarterly updates, and the Long Range Plan (LRP).  Reconcile and report on Actuals vs. Plan.

§         Global travel required  - 15 to 25%

Skills and Competencies Required:

§         Commodity management and strategic implementation

§         Development and implementation of commodity strategy

§         Prior electronics commodity management experience in the automotive, industrial and defense sectors a plus

§         Strong executive relationships across a wide variety of electronic companies

§         Multi-national corporation and global sourcing experience

§         Prior Contracts Manufacturing (CM) experience desired

§         Global operations experience across a broad range of tactical areas

§         Strong negotiation experience

§         Sourcing and supplier management

§         Program Management

§         Problem resolution

§         Team leadership across organizational and geographic boundaries

§         Solid written and verbal communication skills

§         Goal oriented, results driven, decisive

§         Organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasking capabilities

§         Flexible work schedule

Education and Experience Required:

§         Bachelors Degree in Business or Supply Management related area

§         10-12 years procurement/commodity management experience
