Job Description:
The ideal candidate for this position is an expert system test engineer with experience designing and implementing test solutions. Specific responsibilities will include developing and executing tests for and identifying defects in a software based embedded push-to-talk system operating on commercial 3G, LMR, and 3G/LMR Hybrid networks. A level head and strong teamwork skills are critical to the ability to contribute to this highly motivated, fast moving team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of five years of system/software test experience. Or equivalent work experience is required.
- Experience with verification testing of IP based systems is required.
- Knowledge of networking equipment is required.
- Experience with Sun workstations and Windows and Linux based computers is required.
- Candidate must be familiar with computer and network test techniques and have excellent oral and written communications skills, and good interpersonal skills.
- Must be a self-starter and have excellent time management skills with the ability to work well under schedule pressures and to balance priorities. Individual must be receptive to change.
- Hands-on experience in scripting using Python, Perl, Tcl, Shell, and Selenium is required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with embedded systems and/or mobile and wireless devices and applications is desireable
- Knowledge of and experience with public safety radio protocols such as P25, EDACS and TETRA is highly desirable
- Knowledge of and experience with 3G cellular telephony and data protocols is highly desirable.
