Marketing Specialist

About the Job

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Assist in the development and execution of marketing initiatives across all communication & business channels; act as “project manager” on day-to-day project development; assist in the development of communication and creative strategies through project completion.  Responsible for coordinating and assisting in the development of client presentations and understanding the specific needs of direct marketing and online mediums.  Manage online programs such as creating online enrollment websites and developing member email communications.  Working closely with manager and extended team, take ownership of projects and proactively work within all areas to ensure that all needs are met seamlessly, on strategy and on time for all programs.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

·         Serves as “project manager” for online programs (website and email campaigns).

·         Works cross functionally with internal departments (business units, finance, IT) to manage projects.

·         Develops market and competitive comparisons/audits as required to assist marketing and business initiatives.

·         Assists in preparation of PPT materials and other client-facing documentation/sales tools.

·         Coordinates all project deliverables to ensure team is staying on track with deliverables.

·         Participates in the development of production schedules.

·         Participates in cross-team project meetings as assigned.

·         Manages projects from concept through implementation.

·         Maintains and updates marketing client campaign reference files such as motor club direct mail campaigns. 

·         Assists with day-to-day activity for ancillary benefit program Cross Country Perks such as making sure offers are up-to-date.

·         Analyzes, reports and projects marketing campaign, and Cross Country Perks member activity, results and implications.

·         Works closely with Marketing Operations to provide accurate production specs, to analyze post campaign results, and on other projects as assigned.

·         Reviews and distributes relevant industry articles to the team as assigned.

·         Follows-up with team members to keep projects on time and within budget.

·         Develops and distributes daily team project status.

·         Writes and distributes meeting contact reports.

·         Completes other duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in marketing or business or equivalent experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:  4 - 6 years marketing experience with an emphasis in integrated marketing programs including online.  Advertising agency experience preferred.  Must be computer savvy (Word, Excel) and have advanced PowerPoint skills, Access a plus.

 

 

SKILLS:  Possesses strong judgment and decision abilities. Under general guidance, articulates programs and ideas in a clear and concise manner, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to multi-task, organize, prioritize and consistently follow through.  Effective negotiation and conflict management skills. 

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:  Interfaces with all external and internal clients. Works collaboratively on assignments within the marketing department.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to work flexible hours as business needs dictate.
