Early Literacy Coach

About the Job

Little Sprouts seeks 3 full-time Early Literacy Coaches for our Early Reading First project based on our EPIC! goals: Excellence, Passion, Innovation, and Courage! (because it’s that important).  This three-year grant project seeks to turn 19 classrooms in Haverhill, Lawrence, Lowell, Methuen and Roxbury into Preschool Centers of Excellence through intensive professional development, the implementation of the curriculum Curiosity Corner, and rigorous evaluation.

Little Sprouts has been a leader in providing award winning early education since 1982. As group of humanitarians, we trust in the power of literacy to change the world; social, emotional, intellectual and physical literacy for children, youth, teachers and families.  We believe in the commonality of humanity. We embrace that unity is best achieved by celebrating diversity. Little Sprouts has 11 schools in Massachusetts supporting families that reflect 32 cultures speaking 23 languages from all walks of social, economic, religious and ethnic backgrounds.

Early Literacy Coaches will provide classroom teachers regular, on-site coaching, modeling, and consulting to reinforce key concepts and provide embedded professional development.  Each coach will have a target school, though as key members of the Little Sprouts’ Curriculum Team, traveling between schools is expected.
