QinetiQ North America's Technology Solutions Group is recruiting a Technical Writer on our Littleton, MA office.

 

The Tech Writer works directly with engineering, product development, and manufacturing to write and edit software, hardware, and system documents, user manuals, training course materials, and procedures.

 

Conducts product research by interviewing subject matter experts, reviewing existing documentation, and using the product and or software.

 

Authors end-user documentation, internal procedures, technical papers, proposals, and marketing materials.

 

Follows through on documentation projects to completion, including launch, production and archival.

 

Additionally the Technical Writer will perform the following:

Analyzes requirements, develops source material, consults engineering and technical staff and works with editors, illustrators and the like. Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to set standards. Develops, writes, and edits material (e.g. reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, etc.) and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, and content. May study blueprints, flow charts, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mock-ups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail. Assists in laying out material for publication. May write speeches, articles, and public or employee relations releases. Interviews production and engineering personnel and reads journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods. Provides guidance and direction in the areas of quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style. Ensures adherence to specifications. May provide work leadership to lower level employees.

Generally requires a Bachelors degree and five or more years of related experience with increasing responsibilities.
