Job Description

Summary:

Provide equipment maintenance support and repair service to all production and packaging mechanical equipment and facility support systems while maintaining a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to all facility department Team Members and vendors.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.    Repair of manufacturing production machinery and facility support systems.

2.    Utilize service manuals to troubleshoot, repair and for preventive maintenance of equipment and vendor knowledge to resolve facility issues and order parts as needed.

3.    Welding and fabrication knowledge to direct repairs or redesign of production processes and equipment repair work orders.

4.    Keep all work areas clean and clear of debris.

5.    Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices.

6.    Help resolve production equipment downtime issues in a timely manner.

7.    Establish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with production personnel and supervisors to understand and resolve maintenance issues.

 

Intellectual Requirements:

1.    Must have working knowledge of electrical, mechanic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and refrigeration facility support systems.

2.    Ability to understand wiring diagrams and program PLCs with TMs and outside service personnel.

3.    Knowledge of working in a food production environment with food safety, AIB, OSHA, QA and corporate GMP programs would be helpful.

4.    Comprehension of refrigeration processes which will include Freon AC roof top equipment and ammonia compressors.  Understanding of how an ammonia system operates.

5.    Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.

6.    Ability to be well organized and the ability to prioritize to make good decisions, and multi-task.

7. Must be able to communicate and read in English.

 

Physical Requirements:

1.    Work up to a maximum of 8-10 hours per day.

2.    Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break.

3.    Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.

4.    Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 70 pounds unassisted.

5.    Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted.

 

Work Environment

1.    Environmental exposure: temperature extremes (walk-in cooler, freezer and oven)

2.    May be exposed to dairy, flour, gluten, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, and wheat via inhalant or food handling.

3.    Work in a moderately noisy environment.

4.    Work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile and concrete.
