POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will partner with the General Counsel to draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including customer agreements, service orders, vendor agreements, real estate contracts and non-disclosure agreements.   The Corporate Counsel’s responsibilities will involve daily interaction with the Sales and Operations teams to manage the contract review and approval process. 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Draft, negotiate and review a high volume of contracts in a timely manner

·         Propose solutions to address customer concerns, while minimizing legal risk

·         Provide legal guidance to business leaders concerning contract interpretation and negotiation strategies

·         Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance

·         Conduct training to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal processes and procedures

·         Participate as part of team to facilitate strategic initiatives

·         Manage outside counsel to reduce legal fees

Position Requirements:

·         Juris Doctor

·         Active member of a state bar

·         At least 5 years of experience with a law firm or as in-house counsel

·         Experience negotiating and drafting a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts and customer agreements

·         Superior drafting and negotiation skills

·         Experience in telecommunications industry

·         Ability to work independently and proactively

·         Ability to develop resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity

·         Excellent verbal and written communications skills

·         Ability to communicate and build strong working relationships at all levels of the organization

·         Government contracting experience preferred
